About Central States

In 1988, Central States opened a small plant in Rogers, Arkansas, to manufacture metal roofing and siding panels. We quickly outgrew the facilities and built a larger manufacturing plant in Lowell. Since then, we have continued to expand across America.

In 1991, Central States became employee owned by implementing an Employee Stock Ownership Pal (ESOP), giving our workforce ownership interest in the company.

In 1995, We opened Metal Central, a retail outlet focused on a small radius of homeowners and contractors in Arkansas, and later expanded with retail outlets in Texas, Alabama, and Kentucky.

In 2003, we expanded into the self-storage market with Central Storage works, providing consumers with complete self-storage packages.

We believe that business should be kept as simple as possible. Life is complicated enough, and we strive to be easy to do business with. As a supplier, we accomplish this by being dependable and accurate.

This is reflected in our Hedgehog Concept: Right on time, Every time. This means we will get you the right product for your job. We will do it accurately, and with no mistakes. We will deliver it when you need it and we will be consistent, so you can focus on your business, not your supplier.

NTI Business and Industry

In 1996, a group of HR managers from various industries in Northwest Arkansas, were asking how they could raise the skill level of their  workforce (especially in the area of maintenance technician training). Together, they created Northwest Arkansas Industries for Education, a not-for-profit consortium of area businesses and industries, that shared resources and created customized, skill-based job training to suit a wide range of needs.

Our first class spotlight is on the class Basic Machining.

Students who go through Basic Machining get to learn about manufacturing, milling, drilling, sawing, grinding, turning, and measuring methods. Hands-on experience prove many education opportunities. Students are required to provide their own safety googles.

The course is ten weeks long for a total of sixty hours.

Make sure you measure twice before you think of cutting this one out of your schedule!
